I visited Venice from 2/8 to 2/10, 2019 with my mom - actually this trip was the very first time for her to visit a foreign country. I love Venice a lot because it has many fancy restaurants and welcoming staff everywhere. I recommend that you should visit "Osteria Al Portego" (https://www.osteriaalportego.org/) - The pasta with seafood and ravioli were great.
